I just wanted to say a few quick words about the wonderful Native Bees workshop, a shared initiative of PNB and Kimbriki Eco House & Garden, that we had here at Kimbriki last Saturday 8th Nov.

The workshop was run by Allyson Apte, a Native Bee expert who has trained for years with Kuringai Council, and our PNB Bee enthusiast Dan Smailes.

It was a packed house with 33 people and we had quite a lot more on a waiting list who sadly had to miss out this time.

Allyson & Dan made an awesome team in presenting all levels of information and learning about our amazing Native Bees. We had a wonderful slide show of different types of Native Bees and photos inside the hive, and then we went out and Allyson split our Kimbriki hive and made two hives from one. We all dipped our fingers in and tasted the beautiful honey inside the hive.

It was up there with the best workshops we have had at Kimbriki and I want to thank Allyson and Dan for all their knowledge and enthusiasm. I had many comments from the participants who just loved it!

My hearty congratulations to Dan and Allyson and many thanks to all the people who attended.

We will have to do more Native Bee workshops next year.
