Happy New year from Permaculture Northern Beaches and we hope 2015 is off to a good start for you. We have a few key features coming up in January that we would like to draw you attention to in a briefer version of our what's on. Over the next seven weeks we are having a photo competition - all of the  entries will be on our website and one will be chosen for the 2016 national permaculture calendar. If you see a permaculture image that you would like to share with the permaculture community on the Northern Beaches and beyond - then please enter. 

Thank you for all of you who participated in PNB in 2014 and we look forward to seeing you in 2015 including at some of our events below.

PERMACUTURE NORTHERN BEACHES PHOTO COMPETITION

To officially launch our new Permaculture Northern Beaches website we are holding a permaculture photo competition over the next few weeks.  Each image reflects permaculture and sustainable solutions in some way either in your home, garden or community.  The closing date is February 22nd. To enter please go to our website for details www.permaculturenorthernbeaches.org.au.  All images need to be high resolution of at least 3000px wide and to be an original photograph. 

One entry will be chosen for the 2016 permacutlure calendar which is available nationally (subject to entries) and other images will be used on our website. 

 

WARRINGAH WATER WONDERLAND SATURDAY JANUARY 10 

DEE WHY BEACH 10am - 2pm

PNB will be holding our first stall of 2015 at the Water Wonderland festival to be held at Dee Why beach front.  There will be entertainment, beach clean up, guided walks and stalls with a focus on sustainability as well as marine life.  If you would like to help out on the PNB stall please contact the PNB events team leader: caroline...@hotmail.com

 

NATIVE BEE ART COMPETITION WINNERS

We are pleased to announce the winners of our primary school art competition on native bees in the Warringah area. The placing of the schools is below.  Cromer Public and Arranounbai will both receive native bee hives for their school gardens in first and second place respectively. This competition was undertaken in cooperation with the Warringah Council Community Grant project highlighting the key role native bees play in pollination and biodiversity in our community.  Thank you to all schools for participating. All schools that entered will receive a prize.

INTRODUCTION TO PERMACULTURE COURSE

FEBRUARY 21-22, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

9:30M - 4:30PM each day, Kimbriki Eco House and Eco Garden, Kimbriki Road, Terrey Hills.

We are holding our first PNB Introduction to Permaculture course this February and it is local!

Wanting to get more involved or know more about permaculture?  This course covers the key ethics and principles, outlining the basic design techniques such as zoning, site analysis, and climatic factors. You will leave looking at your home, garden or landscape in a different way.
