Your opportunity to shape permaculture on the Northern Beaches

Your opportunity to shape permaculture on the Northern Beaches

Each year the team of volunteers that organise all of our PNB events are elected. This year our election date is Monday December 14th.  Anyone over 18 years can apply for one of the existing roles on the committee which can also be job shared. In addition to permaculture skills we need people who are adept in administration and organising skills. If you've been thinking about volunteering, now is a great time to contribute and help shape permaculture on the Northern Beaches.

Guringai Festival

Guringai Festival

About the Guringai Festival

Founded in 2001, the Guringai Festival raises awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the Northern Sydney region. The festival usually starts on Sorry Day, 26 May and goes through the end of NAIDOC Week, the second week in July each year. The festival involves Councils and numerous reconciliation and community groups. Events include workshops, art exhibitions, performances, films and talks.

To contribute to this initiative PNB are hosting a night on traditional Australian bush foods and medicines with Jess Sinnott of Koori Kinnections. This will be on Thursday May 31 at the Nelson Heather Centre, Banksia Room, 5 Jacksons Rd North Narrabeen at 7:15 pm.  PNB will also be organising  an Aboriginal weaving workshop with Karleen Green on July 21 at Narrabeen.  Bookings for this workshop are necessary - see our event listing on.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land, the Guringai peoples on whose land we stand, we pay our respects to the Elders past and present.

PNB WHAT'S ON

Your monthly e-Newsletter from Permaculture Northern Beaches -

We bring a variety of at least three activities each month to the permaculture community on the Northern Beaches. Each month is no exception with a mix of permatours and permabees (garden tours and working bees) , workshops, native bees and beekeeping, seed saving, eco-products and living skills. We also run Introduction to Permaculture weekend courses twice a year.  Our monthly education evenings are on the last Thursday each month from February to November at Nelson Heather Community Centre, Banksia Room, 5 Jacksons Rd. North Narrabeen, doors open 7:15 pm.  All are welcome and entry is by donation.

Over the next 18 months we have a special initiative on Greening Your Home - inside and out.  This includes clean energy technologies, sustainable building, a non-toxic environment and organic living. There will be a series of workshops and guest expert sessions as well as displays and resources.
